Rebecca Brugger was born and raised on a farm near Chokio, Minnesota. She attended Concordia College in Moorhead, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology. Dr. Brugger earned her medical degree from the University of Minnesota, and completed her residency training at the United Family Medicine Residency Program in St. Paul, Minnesota. Prior to becoming a Board Certified Family Medicine physician, she gained over 8 years of invaluable experience working as a Certified Nursing Assistant, as well as a Resource Advocate in a women’s shelter.
Dr. Brugger focuses on preventive care for the entire family, with particular interests in newborn and well child care, women’s health, prenatal care through 28 weeks, chronic disease management, mental health challenges, and creating an environment that is welcoming and safe for LGBTQ patients. Dr. Brugger loves getting to know her patients on a deeper level and developing a lasting relationship that is based on working together as a team. She takes pride in providing comprehensive care at any stage of life, and will be your go-to advocate in navigating your health.
Dr. Brugger enjoys spending time with her husband, son, and extended family that live in the Alexandria area. In her free time, she loves fishing and relaxing on the lake, traveling, and painting as a creative outlet.
